Prevent cabinet doors from opening when trailering using these handy travel locks. These install in seconds, just pop them in place and use them when and where you need them, or screw them to the inside of the face frame for a more permanent install. No drilling holes in the outer face frames! No modifications to the cabinet doors! These come in Black, White, or Beige, and a variety of sizes. All sizes are designed to fit up to 7/8" cabinet doors and drawers with up to 7/8" thick face frames, with 1/2 inch or less overlap between door and face frame. The standard size requires 20mm of free space next to the door for the latch to fit. For tight spaces such as between drawers or between two doors, the mini-latch requires only 15mm between drawers/doors to fit. Some doors on some trailers have very little space behind the face frame (common on the 21c) For these trailers, order the short-hook version which requires only 14mm of space behind the face frame. The regular latch and mini require 30mm of setback behind the face frame. Comes in packages of two. Some model Escapes are now using 1/2-inch plywood face frames, so we now offer versions to fit these narrower face frames. Check your trailer before ordering so you get the right one. These are well engineered, sturdy, and easy to use latches. They have greatly reduced having to use bungee cords on my kitchen cabinets in the RV.
Unfortunately, the cabinetry in my 2014 Itasca Navion has varied and inconsistent thicknesses, which causes these latches to simply not work on some doors or drawers.
To be clear, the latches in all cases fit the cabinet doors and drawer fronts. But they do not fit the thickness of the actual cabinet frames inside.
And for those that do fit, I wish there were an easy way to make them permanent. As it is now when I reach my destination and set up camp I have to remove all the latches from all the cabinets that they work on. And then I have to replace them before. I am next underway.
Great product! The latch in our Coachmen RV kept breaking and we kept replacing it...super frustrating! This solved it! Thank you!
Seems to be well-made. Only time and usage will tell. Only complaint is that I ordered a 2- pack of Standard Short Hook, but received one Standard and one Short Hook. Luckily, I only needed one.
The fit is just not perfect. Needed to shim with rubber spacers to enable it to fit snugly and not needing to put a screw into my cabinetry. The thickness of the latch itself does not allow the drawer to fully close and reach the locking portion of the slide rails. The latches are very well made well constructed came in a timely fashion in a reasonably priced. But just not perfect for me
The standard sizes work for many people, but RV cabinets can vary quite a bit. I sell custom latches in addition to the standard sizes for the same price. If you're able to measure your cabinets, I can make some that will fit perfectly. https://rvmodmaster.com/products/2-pack-custom-fit-rv-cabinet-door-07290
Great overall quality. Only note is that the screws for the latch face loosened somewhat quickly with use. In trying to tighten them back incrementally, they only seem to be too tight or not tight enough to have a strong hold after they swivel. Still good, just not as tight as I’d like.
